Colloidal Silver for Tooth Infection and Tooth Abscess

Toothache, Tooth Infection and Tooth Abscess

When the interior of your gum or tooth is full of pus and bacteria then your doctor will diagnose you with a tooth infection or “tooth abscess”. The pain that comes with a tooth infection can be unbearable and that is the reason why you should look for a remedy immediately you notice the first signs of infection.

Tooth infections have very serious health risks if left untreated or when treated poorly. The infection can spread to other parts of the body and cause potentially life-threatening health complications.

Besides seeking treatment, you can use natural remedies like colloidal silver to combat tooth infections.

How Colloidal Silver Helps with Tooth Infections

Ingesting or rinsing your mouth with colloidal silver can help you to tackle tooth infection and prevent the risk of it spreading through your body. Continued use of this natural remedy can also help to prevent the possibility of the infection occurring again.

When treating a tooth infection or tooth abscess, one needs to take colloidal silver orally and keep it over the affected tooth for about 5 to 10 minutes. A 10ppm concentration will suffice. This will allow the colloidal silver to come into contact with the bacteria and kill them in the process.

Colloidal silver deprives the infection-causing bacteria of oxygen through a catalytic oxidation process. This is the primary means through which it helps to fight off tooth infections. Depriving the bacteria of oxygen effectively kills them.

A Research Study on Efficacy of Colloidal Silver Against Oral Bacteria

The study investigated the efficacy of a colloidal silver gel in inhibiting biofilm formation by principal oral bacteria , in vitro. The principle oral bacteria are Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sanguis, and Streptococcus salivarius, which contribute to tooth decay and plaque formation. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of a colloidal silver gel formulation for inhibiting bacterial biofilm formation by the principal bacteria that cause plaque formation and tooth decay.

The study found that colloidal silver gel had 100% inhibition of the oral bacteria S. mutansS. sanguis, and S. salivarius compared with the control gel. In addition, the colloidal silver gel also inhibited biofilm formation by these three bacteria mixed together. These results were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy.
